How To Make A Criminal Injury Compensation Claim

If you have been a recent victim of a crime, then there is a very good chance that you’ll be entitled to make a criminal injury compensation claim under the Criminal Injuries Compensation Scheme.

CICA Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority

Great Britain has in place the oldest compensation scheme for people who suffer criminal injuries as victims of crimes, with the first version having been introduced in 1964. Based along the lines of personal injury compensation claims, the CICA compensates victims of violent crime who have suffered any:

injury, whether that be physical or mental, as a result of being the victim of a violent crime

possible loss of earnings that the victim may endure as a result of such criminal injury

bereavement suffered as a result of a loved one having died as the victim of a violent crime.

Since 1996 the CICA has adopted a fixed tariff criminal injury compensation scheme as set out by parliament in the Criminal Injuries Compensation Act 1995 for those who are entitled to make a criminal injury claim.

Making A Compensation Claim

If you plan to make a claim to the CICA for criminal injury compensation, then you’ll need to show that

Proven Tips, Tools, and Tactics for Reaping Profits from Where Minority Businesses Are Standing

Proven Tips, Tools, and Tactics for Reaping Profits from Where Minority Businesses Are Standing

It is important to remember that in business, just as in life, we are not in this world alone. There are multitudes of people of various cultures and origins willing and ready to do business with us. But how often do we overlook this golden stream to the well?

Just because people from diverse backgrounds and disabilities (usually and incorrectly referred to as “minorities”) don’t necessarily speak and shop the way we do, let’s not forget that they are just as willing to shop in our place of business or sell to us, for that matter. It might even be possible to partner with them and create a profitable win-win situation for both parties.

It is also important to remember that minorities don’t necessarily see and do business “our way”. Whatever that means? Nevertheless, such individuals might be the source of our business’ survival. For this to work effectively for both sides, it is also important to see the world from where the minority businessperson is standing. This point was brought home to me when I went shopping with my eldest daughter who was about two

What’s Good For The Heart

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: hear — admin @ 5:05 am

There has been a lot of talk in recent years about doing things that are healthy for your heart. Hardly a week goes by without some new fact or warning on the news about the latest foods and exercises to avoid or to add to your routines. It seems like almost everyone is consumed (and rightfully so) with lowering their cholesterol or with making time for more cardiovascular exercise. I haven’t heard much, however, about taking time to do what’s good for your heart. Not the physical heart that beats and pumps blood to keep you living, but the non-physical heart that allows you to feel, to relate with other people, and to make life worth living.

You see, I think that all of the work spent on your physical heart is in vain if you do not take just as much time or more to work on the health of your non-physical heart. I know all the excuses: life is too busy, my job is too demanding, my family requires all of my extra time. If you’re making any of these excuses the first step for you is to realize that the health of your heart

Recognizing The Signs Of Alcohol Abuse

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: abuse, alcohol, alcohols, center, cure, drug, rehab, rehabilitatio, treatment, treatments — admin @ 12:11 am

Alcohol abuse, or alcoholism, is a serious illness that often requires immediate treatment. Not everyone knows what to look for in terms of alcohol abuse, but the truth is that there are very definitive signs that can quickly confirm the need for treatment.

Many alcoholics drink because they are angry or sad, but often end up feeling guilty either while they are drinking or after the effects wear off. Emotional drinking is a very likely sign of alcohol abuse and should not be overlooked. If the feeling of needing to reduce the level of alcohol consumption begins to occur or when friends and family start to express their concern, it is often time to seek counseling for alcohol abuse.

A large number of alcoholics find themselves lying about their behavior, which is usually an indication of shame. This may be a clue that he/she knows their actions are excessive and they wish to hide it from those closest to them, which means that they realize their actions are unhealthy and there may be a good chance for recovery.

If alcohol becomes a way of dealing with stress, the drinker has an undeniable addiction. Stress is a part of everyday

Headsets – An overview

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: earphone, headset, microphone — admin @ 7:04 am

Headsets are headphones with a microphone attached, making a device that you can wear on your head to easily hear and record sound. Their popularity has risen sharply with the recent growth of voice chat on the Internet, both on Internet phone services such as Skype and in online games such as Xbox Live.

As a consequence, most electronics shops now sell headsets. As most headsets at the cheap end of the market are unbranded, however, it can be very difficult to know exactly what youre getting for your money.

As a rule, you should try to avoid buying headsets from the big High Street electronics retailers, as they will generally sell very cheap headsets for much more than theyre worth. Smaller computer shops are a better bet, as are independent music stores and games shops. The best place to buy a headset, though, is one where you can compare features objectively and right now, the only place you can really do that is on the Internet.

Since you cant see or touch the products on the Internet, shops have to go to a bit more effort to provide you with technical specifications, which allows you to compare

Talented in Arts?

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: argumentative essay topic, essay writin — admin @ 6:03 am

The word art unites a lot of different definitions and branches. We usually associate arts with something of extreme beauty that brings pleasure. Arts help us solve one of the philosophical questions What is beautiful? With the help of arts we can see the beauty that was not yet shown to us. Arts started developing from the simple sketches made on the stone by our predators. Now we can see how many branches arts have.
We distinguish verbal arts, such as poetry, prose, theatre, movie production though it can also be put to the category of drawn arts or pictures, another branch is sculpture which is closely united with architecture. Then we call music a true art and enjoy various styles and compositions. Dancing is an art and a sport, for it helps a person to keep fit and brings joy to the audience.

Weve enumerated a number of arts that exist, but the list is certainly not full. Martial arts are called arts not without a purpose. Examining the works of the talented and gifted we see that art is everything that is exceptionally beautiful. The definition of the kind of arts can be a good argumentative

Romania Bucharest, Dracula and Transylvania

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: bran castle, brasov, bucharest, Ceausesc, dracula, romania, romania travel, transylvania, vlad — admin @ 7:05 pm

Mention Romania and people immediately think of Dracula and a mid-evil country. Recovering from years of economic misery, Romania is quickly becoming the hidden jewel of Eastern Europe.

Dracula v. Ceausescu

In pop culture, Romania is always equated with Count Dracula, Bran Castle and Transylvania. These assumptions are wrong. Vlad Tepes is widely regarded as the person on whom the Dracula character is based. Known as Vlad the Impaler, there is no disputing this was one nasty individual, but he wasnt a vampire. On top of this, Vlad the man never resided in Bran Castle, a real castle and the home of the fictional Dracula. Sorry to burst your bubble, but there was a person arguably worse than Dracula or Vlad in Romanias history.

Introducing Nicolae Ceausescu, the reigning worst dictator in the history of Europe. A pig on all counts, this man treated Romania as his personal fiefdom through much of the twentieth century. While leading the country into economic ruin, he built lavish estates for he and his wife. While Romanians starved on the streets, he and his wife spent money like Joan Collins at a plastic surgeon. When he was finally expelled from office, the people were

Puerto Rican Cuisine

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: cuisine, dishe, Puerto Rico cuisine — admin @ 1:03 pm

Puerto Rico is an island nation that is officially a territory of the United States. Puerto Rican cuisine.has evolved from several strong influences, including those of the original peoples, such as the Tainos, and the Spanish conquerors that drove most of the natives out and enslaved the remaining. African and Caribbean influence is also reflected in the cuisine of the island, which has also been shaped significantly by its climate and geology.

Cocina criolla, one of the main cuisine styles particular to the island has deep roots, extending far back to the native Tainos and Arawaks. Their culinary traditions were based tropical fruits, native vegetables, seafood, and corn. With the Spanish came a host of other ingredients that expanded the criolla style. These included olive oil, rice, wheat and meats, such as pork and beef. As enslaved African peoples were imported for work on the sugar cane plantations, their culinary traditions took root as well, and their contributions, which included taro and okra, became assimilated into the whole of criolla cuisine.

Many of the islands main dishes are seasoned with adobo and sofrito, spice mixtures that impart those flavors that the island is so well known for. Adobo,

Skate Board A Hobby Turn Serious

Filed under: Uncategorized — Tags: extreme sports, skateboard, X Game — admin @ 5:58 am

Skateboard shed its transport equipment image of the late 40s and 50s to become what it is today, the recreational tool. The early skateboard championships were soap box derbies held in cities during that era of crude skateboards, which sometimes used to double up as surf boards too.

Skateboards as Sports Gear

With mass production becoming a reality in the 1960s skateboards underwent a lot of transformation for better; from solid wood or metals to plywood for decks, flat no shape to concavity, clay composite steel wheels to polyurethane made ones and finally single action trucks (axles) to aluminum constructed two part trucks. There is so much more in the safety, comfort and durability departments that you need to look into when buying skateboards.

Well, how do these things help? At first, the question may strike an irrelevant chord, but not so when you see the difference. Just taste this for samples: Without that innovative concavity would it have been possible for those champion skateboarders to takeoff from flat ground? Forget that for a minute, speeding along the streets wouldnt have been a reality but for the grip tapes now you find on the decks, which prevent you from

Steven Hawking Asks How Human Race Can Survive. NewsLaugh Presents Ten Ideas Called Look, Dummy.

The brilliant British astrophysicist, Steven Hawking, has invited people to submit suggestions to his Website via Yahoo on how the human race might last another hundred years. Given that the dinosaurs lasted about 150 million years and were worried about making it given our 100,000-year-or-so history to a mere 100,100, we decided we must, after all, be even less perspicacious about what it takes to survive than the lofty dinos.

To moderate any possible abbreviation of our stay, we thought wed present ten ideas that we call Look, Dummy.

Since one of the delights of writing this informed laugh fest is knowing we dont have a single reader who could be even remotely described as a dummy, these ideas are obviously intended for your amusement but might also serve as a convenience when you come across people who seem to have a certain impenetrability when it comes to what is gaspingly obvious.

1. Look, Dummy: A tree. You cant make one, so dont cut them all down.

2. Look, Dummy: A fish. You cant make one either, so dont catch them all.

3. Look, Dummy: An animal: You cant make any of these either, so dont kill them
